Patrick Maliha’s 5th Annual Naughty Little New Year’s Eve!
Who is Patrick Maliha?
It’s a question asked by those who have their finger far from the pulse of Vancouver’s vibrant nightlife. If that’s you, come in from the cold – Patrick is waiting, and he’s one of the best people you could hope to know. A comedian, a writer, an actor, a gentleman, the sort of person you want to spend a night with, the grinning friend who takes you to the strangest places and offers you one more drink, one more story, keeps a smile on your face and a song in your heart. He’s insightful as only comedians can be, full of the wit and wisdom that the best of their ilk earn on the road and stage.
Patrick is a world record holder for most impressions done in under a minute, a veteran of the Comedy Network, CTV, CBC Television and Radio, Bite TV, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Roundhouse Radio, and one of the writers for the Mystery Science 3000 reboot. He’s also one of the best people you could hope to meet.
And, yes, he also throws one hell of a New Year’s Eve hullabaloo.
This is the fifth year that Patrick has thrown one of these gatherings, full of good people, party favors, dancing, comedy, and a complimentary glass of bubbly to wish 2017 a fond farewell and ring in 2018.
But it’s the show he’s put together that should grab and keep you: live performances by the incomparable Shirley Gnome, burlesque by the lovely Barbara Beal, the hilarious improv stylings of the Fictionals Comedy Company and the Theater Sports Rookie League, an appearance by at least one Marilyn Monroe impersonator, and special performances from both the Critical Hits Show and the Gentlemen Hecklers.
This is going to be an awesome time, certainly one of the best ways you could ring in the New Year and herald all the hope and promise that 2018 has on tap.
Tickets are $30 in advance, and you can nab them right now by clicking here. Alternatively, you can try for the door and pay $45, but Patrick’s Soiree always sells out. We’re talking some very adult happenings and insights, so 19 years or older only, please.
Doors open at the infamous Rio Theater at eight and the festivities kick off at nine. You have been warned, and you should not miss this.
